Main Purpose:   The Usability Engineer/Designer must have a thorough understanding of User Interface design and User Experience including usability, industry standards, architecture and navigation. The candidate will be responsible for visualizing, designing and implementing user interfaces for web applications and embedded devices including touch panels, KIOSKs and digital signage displays.  Creativity and innovation are key to the success.  The candidate will work directly with the client, Project Manager, Technical Lead, off shore team of UI designers and other engineers on projects.

Job Functions and Associated Competencies:

• Responsible for design and implementation of user interfaces for new and existing systems, including prototypes and response to user feedback.
• Visualization, (creating the visuals) design and implementation of Web, Touch Panels, KIOSKs and digital signage displays.
• Works closely with team members and client to obtain requirements, proposes designs and works collaboratively to develop specifications.
• Implements robust interfaces, capable of handling large amounts of data, and meeting human factors criteria needed in a 24X7 environment.
• Ensuring all projects meet quality standards.
  

Experience, Education and Training

• Bachelor's degree or formal education in HCI, Graphics Design and at least 3+ years of professional experience.
• Must have strong working knowledge of HTML/DHTML, CSS, JavaScript, Div based web page designing, Photoshop, Dreamweaver, MS Expression Studio.
• Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Silverlight 3 or 4 and MS Expression Studio.
• Experience working with Flash, Flex, Swish and related tools for animated graphics a  plus.
• Must be innovative, creative and have ability to study, research, analyze and understand requirements and design mockups, wireframes.
• Ability to communicate abstract design ideas clearly using storyboards, wire frames, mockups and flowcharts.
• Experience with enterprise level application development preferred.
• Excellent understanding of user-centered design methodology and usability testing
• Good understanding of Section 508 standards & Compliance is a plus.
• Must be able to handle a variety of tasks, effectively solve problems with numerous and complex variables, and be able to shift priorities rapidly.
• Should have a visually impressive portfolio
• Bilingual Hindi-Urdu is a plus.
• Strong desire and capability to learn and accomplish tasks in a challenging environment.
• Must be able to obtain security clearance.
